Rory Beglane, TCRG

Rory Beglane began Irish Dancing at the age of six with the Margaret Pike School of Irish Dance. Shortly after her retirement, Rory transferred to the Inishfree School of Irish Dance under the direction of Sean Reagan, where he maintained a competitive career dancing at multiple regional, national, and world championships. He placed seventh in the world championships and first in the regional championships during his career. After retirement from competition, Rory toured with The Young Irelanders for five weeks in 2018.

Rory attended Villanova University, and joined the Irish Dance team upon his arrival. At the conclusion of his freshman year, Rory and fellow Villanova Irish Dance leadership Mattisan Rowan and George Pinchock formulated the idea of the first Intercollegiate Irish Dance Competition. This competition allowed Zack Warshaw and Rory to join their efforts of creating College Irish Dance a national network; and as they like to say, the rest is history.

Rory choreographed and led the Villanova Irish Dance team for three years, proudly winning the fun number competition twice (High School Musical and Disney Melody). He also served as the driver to Dayton Ohio for the University of Dayton Intercollegiate Irish Dance competition two times, growing the relationship with Megan Dunn Peters and the UD Irish Dance team.

After graduating in 2016 with a civil engineering degree, Rory achieved his TCRG in 2020 and now teaches with the Marie Moore School of Irish Dance. Rory also works as construction manager in the greater tri-state area.

Zack Warshaw, ADCRG

Zack's Irish Dance journey started in his homeland of Vermont in 1998. He saw Riverdance on TV and that was that. Through his 11 year competitive career, he danced under the McNeish School of Irish Dance, the Bernadette Short School of Irish dance, the Western Australian Academy of Irish dance, and finally the McFadden Academy of Irish Dance, where he taught for a long while after achieving his TCRG certification in 2014. Although he fondly refers to his competitive career as "upper mediocre", he did have some notable highlights, including being the first person from the State of Vermont to compete at the World Irish Dancing Championships and represented the state seven times. He also had the honour of sharing the stage with several well known musical acts including Natalie MacMaster, Eileen Ivers and Leahy. In March of 2022, he passed the daunting ADCRG exam, qualifying him to judge at CLRG competitions worldwide.

As an undergraduate at the University of Vermont, he and fellow Short School dancer Meg Ryan founded the UVM Celtic Cats--a team which thrives to this day. His father, Prof. David Warshaw, an experienced Feis Dad, remains their advisor. Since meeting Rory in 2013, Zack has worked tirelessly with the team to grow and support college Irish dance, and is extremely excited to see where this journey takes everyone.

When not involved in the world of Irish dance, Zack lives in Seattle, works for Delta Air Lines at the Corporate Headquarters, learns languages, and is also involved in the world of Highland Dancing.
